Register and be counted!
Small Developer Census
Across North America small-scale, incremental developers are rehabbing and building residential, commercial and mixed-use real estate. These “homegrown” efforts are barely recognized in the shadow of mainstream, highly capitalized large developments –whether the next subdivision or major project requiring public money or approvals.
By incremental…we mean change at a pace that’s not jarring. Real estate designed, built, managed, and done for locals.
By small-scale…we’re talking about 1-20 units, 1-4 stories and typically less than about $2-3 million in project costs.
This is an open source, volunteer attempt that aims to bring attention to the many benefits small-scale development generates in rural, urban and suburban places and to the entrepreneurial small developers innovating daily to make small development count. For developers, give about 5-7 minutes to share information about your work from the top of your head.
*When registrations reach a sufficient level in your area, you will be emailed a link to an interactive map that shows the small developers and their collective impact. We encourage you to also share the census link with other small developers so that they too get counted!
